“On the 13th February 1990 that the body of Foreign Affairs minister Robert Ouko was found near his Koru home.

His death sparked off a frenzy of activity in Kenya and abroad.

In a gesture that must have caught many of his inner circle off-guard, President Moi asked a team from New Scotland Yard in London to investigate Ouko’s murder. The team was headed by Detective Superintendent John Troon.”

“Troon came up with a theory – that “something happened”, a “row” of some sort, during President Moi’s trip to Washington just two weeks before Ouko was killed. This might have just provided a motive for the minister’s murder.”

“There is tenuous evidence both fact and circumstantial that some form of dispute or disagreement took place in Washington…”
